3 February 2009
Dear
fellow members
Now
that an exciting Australian Open is over for another year, I hope that you are
fired up and ready to play tennis – heat allowing!
Your
committee met last night and I thought that I would use this opportunity to share
some of the key issues and decisions that we talk about at our meetings.
Membership
·
We are trialing a cap at around 225 as the available
facilities appear to be stretched at peak times
·
Membership is currently on hold as the existing club
capacity of 225 has been reached
·
Currently 224 members (42 family, 107 individual, 2
juniors)
·
Fees will remain the same as last year
Organised
Tennis
·
Organized tennis will take booking priority during the
evening peak times. This is to increase
usage of the courts.
·
The committee discussed some proposed organized tennis
guidelines which will be distributed
·
Thanks to Mike Smith for organizing Tues and Fri
nights
·
Thanks to Oliver, Tim, Sue and Melanie for organizing
Wed nights
·
The organized tennis relies on volunteers to be
successful. We will streamline the work
as much as possible to make this a simple task when its others turn
·
Tim Heath is organizing a Thursday night comp starting
at 7.30 and he will be given two courts.
This may affect some court scheduling.
Works
·
MCC are giving positive signals about a kitchen
refurbishment. They have asked us for a
design and cost proposal.
·
·
Thanks to Wayne and Paul from the committee for
cleaning out the shed
Court Bookings.
·
The committee resolved that it must endorse any ‘permanent bookings’
Regards,
Michael

committee is Michael Bowles (President), Carmel McCormack (Vice President), Wayne Dawson (Secretary and Membership),
